2008 Walk 4 Paws is a Huge Success

The Chautauqua County Humane Society’s 2008 “Walk 4 Paws” was held on October 25th at the Hall of Christ in Chautauqua Institution. The “Walk” combined with sponsorship raised $14,072.50.  According to Amy Reinhardt, Community Relations Coordinator, “The weather was rainy yet we still had over 100 individuals participate, many of which walked with their pets in the 1.0 mile or 2.0 mile walk through Chautauqua Institution.”

According to Ms. Reinhardt, “The top three fundraising corporate teams were, Greater Chautauqua Federal Credit Union $912, Department of Social Services South County $654.50 and Acu-Rite $464.00.  The top three individual fundraisers were Phyllis Caloren $1,135, Elizabeth Southworth $501.00 and Sandy Bloomquist $500.00.”

The Chautauqua County Humane Society is solely supported through contributions, gifts and donations and the objective with this event is to raise funds that allow CCHS to positively impact the lives of adoptable animals at the shelter, continue to expand their ability to investigate animal cruelty and implement no cost spay and neuter clinics for area low income families.
